2 bank robbers involved in 7.53-kg jewellery loot in Odissa held in Patna
PATNA, Feb. 15 -- A joint team of Bihar STF and Odissa police arrested two dacoits from the state capital on Saturday in connection with the robbery case at the Bank of Maharashtra branch at Barbil in Keonjhar.
The arrested accused have been identified as Santosh Paswan alias Mamu (Vaishali) and Navin Kumar alias Navin Chandra of Kankarbagh.
The police have seized 37.8 grams of gold and 11.85 gram silver ring from the possession of the accused.
The robbery took place on January 19, when miscreants looted gold ornaments weighing around 7.53 kilograms, valued at approximately Rs.5 crore, along with Rs.8 lakh in cash from the lockers of the bank. The accused had fled the scene on three motorcycles.
A case was registered at the Barbil police station.
Earlier two of the accused - Raja Kumar Singh, a native of Jamui district in Bihar residing at Chasnala in Sindri, and Kunal Raj Verma, a resident of Nirsa - were arrested from Dhanbad.
Director General (Operation) Kundan Krishnan confirmed the development and said that a joint police team led by DSP Anand Kumar raided at the hideouts of absconding bank robbers at Jakkanpur police station area and arrested them with the help of human intelligence and photo date base....
