'Being kind and compassionate purpose of edu'
PATNA, Feb. 3 -- "Compassion comes naturally to women and men should cultivate the same to be more evolved human beings," said Governor of Bihar Arif Mohammed Khan on Monday at the Annual Day 2026 function of Patna Women's College.
In his speech that was replete with quotes from the Bhagvad Gita and Mahabharat, the governor exhorted the young audience to have a single-minded purpose in life, adding that in the absence of a purpose, life got disoriented. He also quoted Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, second president of India, and an educationist par-excellence, substantiating that women were kind and compassionate and that, in fact, was the true purpose of learning.
Earlier, the programme began with lighting of the lamp. This was followed by 'Ish Vandana', the divine invocation, and a welcome song.
Principal Sister M Rashmi AC said Patna Women's College had rendered an exceptional service to society in the field of women empowerment and had always remained agile to the rapidly evolving world. The pedagogy blended digital integration with skill-based learning, she added.
