Shardashram, Parag English set up title clash
Mumbai, Feb. 10 -- Parag English School and Shardashram Vidyamandir English Medium School entered the final of the Manoramaben Apte Trophy for Under-16 girls, to be played on Thursday at the MCA-BKC ground.
In the semi-finals, Parag English School defeated Dnyandeep Seva Mandal's by 43 runs, riding on Vedika Nikam's 18-ball 36. In the other last-four clash, Shardashram beat Sri Ma Vidyalaya by 59 runs, with Ria Thakur scoring a half-century.
Brief scores: Parag English School 131/6 in 15 overs (Vedika Nikam 36, Advaita Toraskar 30; Kanika Raj 4/70) beat Dnyandeep Seva Mandal's 88/3 (Jaishna Pillai 33, Kimaya Kadam 30; Tanisha Sharma 2/32) by 43 runs; Shardashram Vidyamandir English 138/5 (Ria Thakur 54, Vaidai Tanawade 30*) beat Sri Ma Vidyalaya 79/9 (Kartika Poojary 4/24, Madhura Phadke 4/19) by 59 runs.
New Hindu defeated Dadar Union by two wickets in their Round 1 match of the Young Comrade Shield. In another match, Wasim Ashraf grabbed five wickets and Hashim Sayyed took four for Juhu Vile Parle Gymkhana Club.
