MUMBAI, April 26 -- A 30-year-old civic veterinary officer died after a tempo rammed his scooter on the Gandhi Nagar junction bridge in Vikhroli on Saturday afternoon. The victim, Niwas Yadav, was on his way from Powai to the Deonar abattoir for his shift when the accident took place. Yadav, who lived near IIT-Bombay, sustained a serious head injury in the crash and fell unconscious. He was taken to Rajawadi Hospital in Ghatkopar, where he was declared dead on arrival. According to the complaint filed by his father, Taggwelu Yadav, 65, Niwas had left home for his afternoon shift when the family received a call from Parksite police station informing him about the accident. The tempo driver, Govind Giri, 45, has been detained. A case has been filed against him under relevant sections of the BNS and the Motor Vehicles Act....
