Mumbai, Feb. 10 -- The Bombay high court last week reduced the sentence of a man convicted under the Pocso Act from life imprisonment to 12 years, taking into account certificates he earned in prison for participating in programmes on reading Mahatma Gandhi's thoughts and writing essays. The man, a resident of a Ghatkopar chawl, was 20 years old when he committed aggravated sexual assault on a five-year-old girl - his neighbour's daughter - in December 2016.
