Mumbai, April 13 -- Lakhs of residents in Chembur, Govandi, Deonar and Mankhurd went without piped natural gas (PNG) for over 24 hours after a pipeline operated by Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) was damaged during construction work on Saturday evening.
The disruption began after a contractor allegedly hit the pipeline near Shri Prasad CHS in Chembur, forcing MGL to shut supply as a safety measure, officials said.

"Gas supply has been restored in the morning. In case any customer is informed of the gas supply still not being restored our teams are checking and doing the needful," an MGL spokesperson claimed. htc...
