Thane, May 16 -- The Mumbra police on Tuesday arrested 35-year-old Irshad Iqbal Inamdar near Mumbra bypass toll plaza and confiscated 39.7-kg marijuana worth Rs5.95 lakh.

The police said Inamdar has been selling the contraband with the help of his mother-in-law for the past few years.

Assistant inspector Mangesh Borse from Mumbra police station said, "We received a tip-off that youngsters would regularly visit an isolated spot near the toll plaza to buy ganja. Accordingly, we laid a trap on the night of May 14 and arrested Inamdar at 10.20pm while selling the contraband."

Investigation revealed Inamdar sold the contraband with the help of his mother-in-law Shayana Bi. She has several police cases registered against her in Jalna district....
