Mumbai, March 11 -- The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Tuesday clarified that Mumbai's water supply remains safe, dismissing social media rumours claiming that unfiltered water is being supplied in the city. Calling the claims false and misleading, the civic body said there had been no malfunction in filters at any water treatment plant. The BMC's water engineering department said water supplied to the city undergoes proper purification and disinfection, in accordance with World Health Organization standards and IS 10500:2012 drinking water norms.
