Mumbai, June 25 -- The City Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco) has approached the Supreme Court (SC), challenging a Bombay high court (HC) order that denied the state agency rights to construct a residential colony and golf course at NRI Seawoods Complex in Sector 60 of Nerul in Navi Mumbai.

On November 1, 2018, the HC division bench of justice Abhay Oka and justice Riyaz Chagla had struck down the plan citing a violation of Article 21 (right to life) of the Constitution, if mangroves and wetlands in the area were destroyed; and Article 14 (right to equality).
