Mirza slams 190 in U-19 tourney
Mumbai, Jan. 24 -- Raza Mirza's 190 helped Patel Cricket Coaching Centre get to 374/8 in 40 overs, as they beat Sulakshan Kulkarni Cricket Academy, who were all out for 168, to win the U-19 tournament organised by the Dilip Vengsarkar Foundation at the academy's ground in Chembur on Friday.
Former Mumbai spinner and current Mumbai selection committee chairman Sanjay Patil praised the "inspirational" Vengsarkar at the prize distribution ceremony.
Brief scores: Gr Mumbai Police SC A 202 & 117 (Harsh Salunkhe 36; Bharat Patil 6/28, Asif Shaikh 3/48) lost to Viva Supermarket 161 & 160/3 (Yashas Ganiga 67*, Umesh Gurjar 38). RBI SC 219 & 323/5d (Amey Dandekar 104, Shreyas Phatak 83*, Yashraj Joshi 36, Chiranjeevi GS 35) drew with DMCC 153 & 217/4 (Shaun Rodriques 76, Heramb Parab 40).
Mumbai beat Maharashtra by three wickets in the final of the BCCI Women's U-15 One Day Trophy. Mumbai chased down the 177-run target with an over to spare.
The Mumbai Cricket Association also announced equal prize money for the team in line with BCCI recommendations....
