Mumbai, Feb. 16 -- The Kanjurmarg police on Sunday arrested a 26-year-old man within 24 hours of allegedly stabbing a man to death following a minor quarrel on Saturday. The deceased, Tushar Thakur, had stepped out to meet friends near Menon College in Kanjurmarg when the accused, Rohit Kachru Kharat, arrived on a motorcycle and called him aside. The exchange turned violent, and Kharat allegedly stabbed Thakur in front of his friends before fleeing the scene. Based on a complaint filed by the victim's father, police registered a murder case under Sections 103 and 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. Teams from Kanjurmarg and neighbouring police stations scanned CCTV footage and questioned friends and relatives to track the accused.
