India, March 27 -- The cyber wing of Kerala police has registered a case against social media platform X and one of its users for circulating an AI (Artificial Intelligence)-generated video depicting the Prime Minister and the Election Commission of India (ECI) in what police described as a "misleading and defamatory manner", the state police said in a statement on Thursday. The action comes amid a controversy in the poll-bound state over an ECI letter to political parties that carried the seal of the BJP's Kerala unit. The AI-generated video purportedly refers to the same controversy - which the poll panel owned up to, but attributed to a clerical error.
