CEC lost temper during S.I.r. meet, says TMC; EC hits back
New Delhi, Jan. 1 -- A delegation of Trinamool Congress leaders on Wednesday met Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar at the EC office in Delhi, sparking a war-of-words between the political party and the poll panel over the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in West Bengal.
A 10-member delegation of the TMC, led by national general secretary and Lok Sabha MP Abhishek Banerjee met Kumar for almost two-and-a-half hours. Afterwards, Banerjee alleged that Kumar lost his temper and addressed him inappropriately even as ECI said the TMC should ensure that their ground-level political representatives are not involved in threatening any staff on election duty.
