Auto driver, aides assault 27-yr-old man in Ghansoli
MUMBAI, Feb. 24 -- A 27-year-old man was allegedly assaulted with an iron rod by an autorickshaw driver and his associates following a road rage incident in Ghansoli on Friday night. The rickshaw driver is yet to be identified, police said.
Rabale police have registered a case under Sections 118 and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against the unidentified rickshaw driver and two associates, identified as Sahil and Vijay.
The victim, Swapnil Sunil Gole, a Ghansoli resident, sustained serious head injuries in the assault. Police said the incident occurred around 9pm in Dattnagar when an autorickshaw allegedly ran over the Gole's foot while brushing past him. When he objected, the driver allegedly reversed the vehicle and engaged in an argument.
The driver then allegedly summoned two associates, and the trio assaulted the complainant.
Two of them allegedly hit him on the head with an iron rod, leaving him bleeding.
The victim was taken to Navi Mumbai Municipal Hospital in Vashi, where doctors administered seven stitches for a head wound and treated injuries near his left eye. He is currently undergoing treatment....
