Adkar through to ITF 100 final
Mumbai, Feb. 22 -- Vaishnavi Adkar scored an upset 6-3, 6-3 win over world No.126 Lanlana Tararudee on Saturday to reach the singles final of the ITF 100 Bengaluru.
Ranked 690 in the world, Adkar will take on world No.123 Hanne Vandewinkel in the final.
Advit Tiwari shone with both bat (24) and ball (3/20) as he helped Saeesh CA beat Patel Coaching Centre by two wickets in the final of the U-15 HDFC Bank Parivartan Cup, played at the Dilip Vengsarkar Academy ground.
"Education is as important as cricket," former India captain Vengsarkar said during the prize distribution ceremony. "Since the exams are round the corner, cricket should take a pause while you study for better results in exams. Span of cricket is short and if you are educated then sky is the limit for you."
