78 rail blocks needed for Elphinstone Bridge razing
Mumbai, Nov. 1 -- The demolition of the British-era Elphinstone Bridge's railway portion is set to begin Sunday night and is expected to be completed by January, according to officials from the Maharashtra Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation (MRIDC).
The corporation has received a go-ahead from Central Railway and Western Railway to proceed with demolishing the bridge portion passing over the tracks.
