4-year-old boy dies 15 days after bus hit scooter in Parel
MUMBAI, Feb. 19 -- A four-year-old boy died on Wednesday, 15 days after sustaining critical injuries when a Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus allegedly hit his family's scooter in Parel.
The accident occurred on the evening of February 4 on Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Road, near the Parel Workshop, when an MSRTC bus reportedly hit the scooter he was riding with his father, Mandar Tawade.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police R Ragasudha (Zone IV), Athang suffered severe head and facial injuries and lost consciousness at the scene. He was rushed to KEM Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries 15 days later.
The Bhoiwada police registered a case against the bus driver, 34-year-old Shyamrao Nagargoje, a resident of Beed district. The case was filed under Sections 125 (acts endangering life or personal safety of others) and 281 (rash driving or riding on a public way) of the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita, 2023, and Section 184 (dangerous driving) of the Motor Vehicles Act....
