Mumbai, Jan. 28 -- The Kasturba Marg police have booked 23 people for allegedly pelting stones at vehicles of forest department officials who were conducting a route march on Monday in hamlets inside the Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP) where demolition was scheduled on Tuesday. According to the first information report (FIR) registered on Monday night, forest guard Mangesh Shinde, 51, posted at SGNP's Magathane Round Beat, was part of a team of 40 officials conducting the route march. While the activity proceeded peacefully in the first half on Monday, around 3.15pm, the crowd at Navapada turned aggressive, shouted slogans, and began pelting stones at the vehicles of forest department officials. As the team of forest officials tried to leave the spot, the mob allegedly chased them and damaged the windows of their official vehicles, the FIR said....
