Prayagraj, March 23 -- The body of a 24-year-old man was found late on Saturday night on railway tracks near Bhadri village in Prayagraj under suspicious circumstances. The police reached the spot after receiving information and sent the body for post-mortem examination. The deceased, resident of Naya Pura Bari under Soraon police station. He worked as a tractor driver. According to his family, Lavkush had left home on Saturday morning to work at the house of a villager, Bharat Lal. After completing a full day of work in the fields, he stayed at Bharat Lal's house for the night. Family members stated that late at night, the youth received a phone call on his mobile phone. After the call, he left the house on foot. Later that same night, his body was found lying on the railway tracks near Bhadri village by the Soraon police. His family suspects foul play and has submitted a written complaint alleging that he was murdered. However, inspector-in-charge Keshav Verma said that, at first glance, it appears that he died after being hit by a train. This view is also supported by the post-mortem report. He added that the police are investigating all possible angles. In an operation against illegal drug trade, the Nawabganj police arrested a wanted man and seized a large quantity of narcotics on March 21. The accused, Akash Mishra, also known as Chintu, aged 26, is a resident of Sarai Keshav alias Dasapur in Prayagraj. He was arrested near the Uthi Canal crossing. During the search, the police recovered 2.1 kilograms of ganja and 0.62 grams of smack from his possession. Station house officer Raghavendra Singh said that a case has been registered under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act. Further legal action is in progress. Police officials also stated that Akash Mishra has a criminal background. Several cases have already been registered against him at Nawabganj police station. An auto-rickshaw overturned after being hit by a trailer near Savispur in Pratapgarh on Sunday evening. The accident resulted in the death of the driver and serious injuries to a teenage girl. The driver, Brijesh Kumar, aged 25, was a resident of Arkha village under Unchahar police station in Raebareli district. According to police, he had started his journey from Unchahar bus station towards Nawabganj with two passengers. When the auto-rickshaw reached near Savispur, a trailer tried to overtake it and collided with the vehicle. Due to the impact, the auto-rickshaw overturned. Brijesh Kumar was trapped underneath the vehicle and died at the scene. One of the passengers, Archana, a resident of Parsai in Nawabganj, suffered serious injuries in the accident. Police reached the spot and took her to the Community Health Centre for treatment. The body of the deceased driver has been sent for post-mortem examination.
