LUCKNOW, Jan. 1 -- In a tragic incident in Hussainganj, a 23-year-old man reportedly ended his life by consuming toilet cleaner after a phone conversation with his girlfriend, who allegedly refused his marriage proposal and provoked him to take the extreme step. The man, in a long-term relationship with a woman from Phoolbagh, had been emotionally distressed after she distanced herself and repeatedly declined to continue the relationship. On Tuesday evening, during a final conversation, she allegedly taunted him, prompting him to leave home and head to a busy crossing in Hussainganj, where he consumed the substance. Family members rushed him to KGMU Trauma Centre, but he succumbed late Tuesday night despite medical efforts. The family has accused the woman of mental harassment and incitement. Police have been informed and are awaiting the post- mortem report and a formal written complaint to proceed under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)....
