LUCKNOW, Feb. 5 -- Several long-distance trains passing through the Lucknow division will be diverted, short-terminated or short-originated between February 4 and March 21 due to a 45-day mega block sanctioned for redevelopment work at Gaya railway station under the Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya (DDU) Division, said Northern Railway officials on Wednesday. The block has been approved for major redevelopment work on platforms 2 and 3 at Gaya station as part of efforts to enhance passenger amenities and overall station infrastructure. According to Northern Railway, during the block period, train no. 14223 Buddha Purnima Express will be diverted via Rajgir-Patna Junction-Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction-Varanasi Junction from February 4 to March 21. Similarly, Train No. 14224 Buddha Purnima Express will operate on the return route via Varanasi Junction-Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction-Patna Junction-Rajgir Junction during the same period. In addition, multiple Ekatmata Express services will face short termination and short origination. 14259 Ekatmata Express, running via Maa Belha Devi Dham Pratapgarh Junction, will be short-terminated at Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction from February 4 to March 21.
