LUCKNOW, Feb. 5 -- A 45-year-old lawyer died after a speeding car allegedly hit her scooter and fled the spot in Lucknow's Sarojini Nagar area on Wednesday morning, police said. The victim, Smita Dwivedi, was travelling on Kanpur Road when the accident took place around 10 am near the Gindan Kheda turn, opposite the airport runway. Police said she was riding her scooter towards her parental home in the Nagariya locality of Thakurganj when the car rammed into her vehicle. She was rushed to the Command Hospital and then to the Lok Bandhu Hospital, where she died during treatment, police said.
