Woman held for killing live-in partner in Bijnor
MEERUT, May 3 -- The live-in partner of a 25-year-old man found murdered on April 28 was arrested on Saturday for allegedly shooting him dead with his own country-made pistol. She claimed she was forced to take the extreme step after enduring repeated abuse and fearing for the safety of her nine-year-old daughter, said police .
The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of Nagina Dehat Police Station. On April 28, the body of Anuj, was recovered from a forested area near Julahapur village with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Based on a complaint filed by the deceased's mother, police initially registered a murder case against his live-in partner, Shobha, and her husband and launched an investigation.
During interrogation, Shobha stated that she was married to Satyendra in 2011, a resident of Bhaneda village in the Kiratpur police station area, and they have a nine-year-old daughter. However, due to ongoing marital disputes, she has been living separately from her husband since 2023.
In 2024, Shobha met Anuj, and the two began living together. She alleged that Anuj often physically abused her and recorded objectionable videos of her, threatening to make them public. She also accused him of having inappropriate intentions toward her minor daughter, which she said caused her severe distress....
