GORAKHPUR, Jan. 31 -- A woman was found brutally murdered in Gorakhpur's Pipiganj area on Friday morning, police said. While her identity was yet to be ascertained, her head was crushed with a heavy object and her clothes were found to be torn, they added. Superintendent of police (North) Gyanendra Kumar said the murder might have taken place elsewhere and the body was discarded at the spot to conceal the crime. He said locals spotted the body near Bair Ghatta village around 6 am. Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Raj Karan Nayar, who also inspected the crime scene, said two police teams had been deployed to investigate the case. "Every possible angle is being investigated. The forensic team has collected evidence from the scene, and further action will be taken on the basis of the post-mortem report," the SSP said. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the BNS, the officials added. Meanwhile, on Thursday night, police raided around a dozen hotels in the Chauri Chaura, Khorabar, AIIMS and GIDA areas. Hotel registers were checked and rooms were inspected, though no objectionable activity was found....
