Woman found dead in Lko; murder angle probed
LUCKNOW, April 26 -- A 42-year-old woman was found dead in the Thakurganj area of Lucknow, with initial allegations of murder now under scrutiny after police said no clear signs of homicide were detected during a preliminary examination.
Police stated that no evidence of murder has been established so far and that all angles are being investigated. The exact cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem report, following which further legal action will be initiated.
"The deceased, identified as Neelam Saxena, was found on Saturday morning near Lala Bagh along Ring Road, where she had been living in a makeshift hut on a vacant plot with a man identified as Sanjay alias Kalasona and her young daughter," said DCP West Kamlesh Dixit.
Earlier, family members and the child allegedly claimed that the woman had been strangled by her partner on Friday night, who then fled the spot. Based on these allegations, suspicion of murder had emerged.
However, in an official statement, Lucknow Police said Neelam's brother, Naresh, a resident of Hardoi, submitted a written information report at Thakurganj police station on Saturday. Police said he informed that she had been living separately from her husband, Sanjay Saxena, with whom she had four children, and was staying with another man near Lala Bagh.
Police said the woman, reportedly addicted to alcohol, died around 3.30 am under unknown circumstances. No external injuries were found, said Kamlesh Dixit.htc...
