Woman 'critical' after surgery; husbandfiles complaint against hospital
PRAYAGRAJ, Feb. 22 -- A woman admitted to a private hospital after she developed stomach pain has accused doctors of medical negligence and caste-based abuse. Her husband has filed a written complaint with the police, alleging that the hospital not only misdiagnosed her condition but also performed a surgery that left her in a critical condition.
According to the complaint filed at Kotwali police station, Ram Naresh of a village in Pratapgarh took his wife Kiran to a private hospital near Mavai railway crossing on January 25 after she complained of severe stomach pain. The doctor allegedly diagnosed her with a stone and insisted that surgery was urgently required. Rs 50,000 was allegedly charged from the family with the assurance of complete treatment.

Ram Naresh then took his wife to another doctor, who reportedly told him that her intestine had been cut during the earlier surgery. Her condition has since continued to worsen, and the family claims the hospital was pressuring them to stay quiet.
On Saturday, Ram Naresh submitted a written complaint against the hospital and the doctor, demanding strict action. Police officials have stated that the matter is under investigation and appropriate steps will be taken after inquiry.
