LUCKNOW, April 13 -- A minor dispute over DJ music during a wedding procession allegedly escalated into a violent clash between the bride's and groom's families in Lucknow, briefly disrupting the ceremony before police intervened, police said on Sunday. The incident took place on Saturday afternoon in Sarsawan village of the Mahigawa area when the wedding procession arrived from Barabanki. The marriage was scheduled between Gausia, daughter of Rozan Ali, and Rehan, son of Mohammad Naseem from Naiyabad in the Fatehpur police station area. According to locals, the altercation began when youths from both sides were dancing to DJ music and allegedly got into a scuffle following a brief exchange of pushing. The argument soon intensified, leading to stone-pelting and physical violence between the two groups. As tensions escalated, several members of the groom's party reportedly refused to proceed with the marriage and began leaving the venue without having food. Police reached the spot after receiving information and intervened to bring the situation under control. Officials said they counselled both sides and marriage was eventually solemnised late in the night following police intervention. htc...
