Varuna Exp to halt at Shivpur stn from today
VARANASI, March 6 -- The Varanasi-Lucknow Varuna Express train will begin halting at Shivpur Railway Station from March 6, providing relief to residents of Shivpur and nearby areas who had long been demanding the stoppage.
Uttar Pradesh minister of state for stamps, court fee and registration, Ravindra Jaiswal, will flag off the train as the chief guest at Shivpur Railway Station on Friday at 5:45 am.
According to officials, train number 20402, running from Lucknow to Varanasi, will also halt at Shivpur station on its return journey.
The decision was taken after approval from the ministry of railways.
Residents of Shivpur and surrounding localities of Varanasi had been requesting the stoppage for a considerable period, stating that it would improve connectivity and ease travel between Varanasi and Lucknow. With the new arrangement coming into effect from March 6, commuters are expected to benefit significantly....
