UPSIDA, JNPA sign MoU; Lalitpur Pharma Park to get global connectivity
LUCKNOW, April 5 -- The Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) and the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) have signed an MoU to seamlessly connect industrial regions of North India with international markets.
The agreement is expected to play a crucial role in developing the Lalitpur Pharma Park as a global export hub.
Strategically located near industrial corridors, the park will gain access to global shipping routes through the Dadri-Khurja link, giving a significant push to export-oriented manufacturing.
UPSIDA CEO Vijay Kiran Anand and JNPA chairman Gaurav Dayal signed the MoU.
According to the agreement, the pharma park will be connected to the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor and Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor through the Dadri-Khurja rail link. This will enable faster, safer and cost-effective transportation of pharmaceutical products.
The network will facilitate direct connectivity to the JNPA, India's largest container port, which is linked to more than 200 international ports worldwide.
"This partnership will provide investors with world-class logistics facilities, enhancing their global competitiveness. The agreement will ensure seamless logistics support for both import of raw materials and export of finished products, thereby accelerating trade activities," said Anand.
Technical and operational support tailored to the needs of the pharma sector will also be ensured, said the state government....
