up RO/ARO 2023 paper leak case:1 more accused arrested
LUCKNOW, April 4 -- The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) arrested another alleged gang member involved in the Review Officer/Assistant Review Officer (RO/ARO)-2023 paper leak case, officials said on Friday.
The accused, Krishna Pandey, a Ghazipur resident, was arrested near Akhari bypass in Varanasi's Rohaniya area on April 2, according to an STF press release.
The arrest relates to the RO/ARO exam held on February 11, 2024, which was later cancelled following allegations of a question paper leak.
During questioning, the accused told investigators that a middleman approached him and his brother-in-law, offering the paper in advance for Rs.12 lakh per candidate.
He claimed that Rs.3 lakh was paid upfront. Afterward, he was taken to Bhopal on February 9, 2024 where he allegedly studied the leaked paper and answers in a hotel with other candidates.
The STF said the case links to earlier arrests of Subhash Prakash and Vivek Upadhyay who were jailed in June 2024. The case is being investigated by the Civil Lines police station, Prayagraj. htc...
