UP maps over 98% children for nutrition services
LUCKNOW, Feb. 16 -- Uttar Pradesh has achieved a nutrition mapping rate of 98.42% for children under Mission Saksham Anganwadi, Poshan 2.0, with 99.97% of pregnant women opting for institutional deliveries.
The state operates 1,89,736 Anganwadi centres, completing nutrition mapping of 1,43,31,611 children out of a target of 1,45,62,081 children up to 6 years, according to a ministry of women, and child development report. The state government issued a press statement on Saturday detailing the progress.
Currently, 96 of 124 sanctioned 'One Stop Centres' are operational in the state. Of these, 64 function in dedicated buildings while 26 operate from government premises, the statement read.
The state has received approval for 8 working women hostels with a total capacity of 4,000 beds under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment scheme. The central government sanctioned Rs 381.56 crore for this initiative.
