LUCKNOW, Feb. 3 -- Hosts UP Karam got off to a flying start in the 36th All India KD Singh Babu Under-14 Boys Hockey Tournament on Monday, drubbing Haryana's Major Dhyan Chand Academy 10-0, at the Padma Shri Mohd Shahid Synthetic Hockey Stadium here. In other matches of the day, Punjab's Holy Worlds defeated Jai Hockey Academy, Tamil Nadu 5-2, whereas Odisha's Naval Tata Academy crushed Hockey Tripura 10-0. Olympion Marevin Farnandis inaugurated the tournament. Veteran sports administration and former secretary-general of the Table Tennis Federation of India, Arun Banerjee was on Sunday, re-elected as secretary general of the Lucknow District Table Tennis Association after a gap of 36 years. Banerjee had completed his two tenures of four years each in the LDTTA in 1989. The UP State Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships will be held on February 4 and 5, at the Chowk Stadium here....
