UP govt for performancereview of ad hoc coaches
LUCKNOW, Jan. 29 -- The state government has called for a strict vigil on the performance of over 500 ad hoc coaches on the rolls of the Uttar Pradesh Sports Directorate across its establishments in all 75 districts of the state.
Chairing a review meeting of the Uttar Pradesh Sports Directorate here on Wednesday, sports secretary Suhas LY asked officials concerned to categorise the coaches' performance into three groups - satisfactory, average and non-satisfactory.
The categorisation, to be determined by experts, would be based on factors such as attendance, progress in the performance of trained players, and the quality of training, he added.
"If a coach's service is found to be satisfactory, they will be commended. In the case of average performance, they will be given an opportunity to improve. If the performance is found to be unsatisfactory, their services will be terminated after due verification," an official communique issued on Wednesday said.
The sports secretary also directed that the attendance report of all part-time, honorarium-based coaches, including 75 deployed under the 'Khelo India' initiative, be sent to the directorate on a regular basis.
Suhas LY, sports secretary, further directed that the honorarium for the following month be withheld for those coaches whose attendance could not be verified....
