UP Cong sets up panel to review deleted voter names
Lucknow, Jan. 3 -- The Uttar Pradesh Congress has formed a monitoring panel to review voter names reportedly deleted during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process across the state. The party said around 2.89 lakh voter names have been removed from the electoral rolls. To check this, Congress has deployed senior leaders and party workers in all 75 districts.
On Friday, state Congress president Ajay Rai released a list of 215 members who will serve on the monitoring committees in different districts. He said the members will examine the SIR process and focus on reviewing deleted voter names. The committees will remain active for the duration of the SIR process.
The list includes leaders such as MLA Virendra Chaudhary, MP Tanuj Punia, Uttar Pradesh Congress Legislative Party leader Aradhna Mishra, former MLA Ajay Kumar Lallu, former MP Brij Lal Khabri, and Ajay Rai himself.
According to Rai, a committee has been formed in every district in coordination with district and city Congress presidents.
The panels will guide party workers, physically verify deleted names, and ensure that genuine voters are not removed and no fake names are added.
"The Constitution has given the common man of the country the most powerful weapon the right to vote. Our leader Rahul Gandhi, with factual data, proved that vote theft occurred in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Haryana due to the alliance between the BJP and the Election Commission," Rai said....
