India, Dec. 31 -- Union minister of state for finance Pankaj Chaudhary took over as the new Uttar Pradesh BJP chief, replacing Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary, on December 14. Chaudhary is a seven-time BJP MP from the Maharajganj parliamentary constituency. Chaudhary is a known OBC face in eastern Uttar Pradesh. Caste matrix played an important factor in his selection as the BJP's new state president to counter Samajwadi Party's 'pichhda', 'Dalit' and 'alpsankhyak' (PDA) campaign.
