KANPUR, Feb. 19 -- Two siblings died after falling into an open septic tank in Badanpur village of Fatehpur district on Tuesday night. The victims, Shivanshi ,7, and Shatrughan, 6, daughter and son of Rakesh Sharma, had gone to fetch water from a neighbour's house when the incident occurred around 9pm, police said on Wednesday. The septic tank had been left open for cleaning. While filling water, the children moved towards the tank and fell into it. By the time they were noticed, both had drowned, according to villagers. Locals pulled the children out and informed the police. Station house officer of Radhanagar police station, Vinod Maurya, said the bodies were sent for a post-mortem examination after police reached the spot late at night. "No written complaint has been received so far. Further inquiry is underway," he said....
