Lucknow, Feb. 22 -- The UP Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) arrested two alleged drug traffickers and seized 2.89kg of illegal opium worth about Rs.15 lakh in Bareilly district on Saturday. The ANTF operational unit in Meerut carried out the operation on the Bareilly-Badaun Road near Bamiyana Railway Station Road. Acting on intelligence inputs, the team intercepted a car and detained two suspects. The accused were identified as Pushpendra from Jarara in Badaun, UP, and Parmasheela Devi from Shahbazpur in Muzaffarpur, Bihar. Officials recovered 2kg 890 grams of opium, three mobile phones, Rs.1,100 cash and the car allegedly used for trafficking.
