Prayagraj, Jan. 2 -- A joint team of Nawabganj police and the Special Operations Group (SOG) arrested two criminals involved in a robbery of a cloth merchant and sent them to jail. The accused have been identified as Ankit Gautam, a resident of Katra, and Chhaila Babu, a resident of Barej. Police recovered Rs.30,980 in cash, two pistols, two cartridges and a motorcycle from their possession. Efforts are underway to arrest the third accused, Anshu Dubey of Kasari village. According to the police, on December 26, three armed men entered the cloth shop of Dilip Kesarwani in Lalgopalganj and looted Rs.90,000 at gunpoint before fleeing. Police said the accused had earlier met in Pratapgarh jail and later planned the robbery together.
