Twin flyovers transform commute
India, Dec. 31 -- Two major flyovers inaugurated in February 2025 have transformed daily commutes for over five lakh residents, cutting travel time from nearly an hour to just 12-15 minutes. Defence minister Rajnath Singh, Union transport minister Nitin Gadkari, and CM Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the 2.7-km Indira Nagar Sector 25 to Khurram Nagar-Kalyanpur flyover and the 1.86-km Polytechnic to Munshipulia crossing flyover on February 15. The projects, costing Rs.270 crore and Rs.170 crore respectively, have eased congestion at key bottlenecks including Munshipulia, Khurram Nagar, Aliganj, and Jankipuram, where journeys previously took 40-50 minutes. The Indira Nagar-Khurram Nagar route features India's first concrete Hanging Arch Bridge, spanning 76 metres over Kukrail Nala. The structure surpasses Awadh Chauraha bridge in both length and strength, marking a milestone in city's infrastructure development....
