Tricolour, talent & tech mark R-Day across institutions
LUCKNOW, Jan. 28 -- Several programmes to celebrate the 77 Republic Day were organised by various institutions on Monday. From the launch of modern medical services for student welfare to the recognition of young talent for technical innovations, the campuses resonated with the spirit of a self-reliant India.
The corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of Dalmia Bharat Ltd, marked impactful community interventions at Nigohi and Hardoi reinforcing its commitment to sustainable livelihoods and inclusive development. At the Dalmia Bharat Sugar plant premises in Nigohi, the DBF team inaugurated nine micro-enterprises under its flagship Gram Parivartan Program, aimed at enhancing economic self-reliance among rural households. The newly inaugurated microenterprises include: 7 E-rickshaws, a cosmetic shop and a vegetable grocery shop.
Rajeev Krishna, director general of police (DGP), hoisted the national flag at his Tilak Marg camp office and the state police headquarters in Gomti Nagar Extension, calling for professional, constitutional, and citizen-focused policing across the state.
Extending greetings to all personnel and the UP Police family, the DGP paid tribute to martyrs and police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
At the Lucknow University, Dinesh Sharma, Rajya Sabha MP and former deputy CM, formally dedicated an advanced ambulance and a traveller vehicle, funded through his MP local area development (MPLAD) scheme, to the university. JP Saini, vice-chancellor, said that this initiative would significantly bolster the health infrastructure on the campus.
Ajay Taneja, vice-chancellor, hoisted the Tricolor and introduced the '6D Plan' (Dream, Discipline, Dedication, Determination, Devotion, Development).
Highlighting the university's progress, he noted that internet bandwidth has been upgraded to 1 Gbps and Computer Science students were honoured with the Chancellor's Award for their 'Animal Detection System.'
The 'Tiranga Tarangini' band performance by NCC girls was a major highlight of the event.
The celebration at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU) was organised in which Major General Manoj Tiwari was the chief guest. Raj Kumar Mittal, vice-chancellor, expressed pride in India emerging as the world's fourth-largest economy and a global leader.
He called upon students to contribute to nation-building guided by the philosophy of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.'
At Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), JP Pandey, vice-chancellor hoisted the national flag. In his address, he remarked that the Indian Constitution is the most powerful document in the world, granting rights while reminding citizens of their duties.
More than 250 students of SR Global School, Bakshi Ka Talab, along with the school band, participated in the main state-level parade held in front of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly.
On the school campus, vice-chairperson Piyush Singh Chauhan hoisted the flag.
At Mona Convent School and Mona Chandrawati Bal Shiksha Niketan, run by Nari Seva Samiti, a programme was organised in which general secretary Neeraj Pathak and other officials, students presented patriotic dances and plays.
Army Public School, SP Marg, organised a programme in which chief guest Col Rajesh Koundal, Training Battalion Commander, 11 GRRC, was present. The major highlight of the celebration was the prize distribution ceremony, wherein students were felicitated for their achievements in academics, sports and co-curricular activities and discipline.
The school's Class X teachers were honoured with the Academic Excellence Certificate for outstanding results in Central Command in the Very Large Category Schools of AWES.
