Trial of first North India manufactured Vande Bharat rake done
LUCKNOW, Feb. 22 -- The Modern Coach Factory (MCF) carried out an initial inspection and in-house trial of a Vande Bharat prototype rake at its premises in Rae Bareli on Friday. Hindustan Times had earlier reported that after years of Chennai-centric production, this will be the first train that is finally being built in MCF Rae Bareli, and is ready to roll out by the end of February.The inspection was led by Prashant Kumar Mishra, general manager, MCF, in the presence of senior factory officials, representatives of Siemens and other industry partners. According to officials, the first-stage speed trial was conducted within the factory campus to assess basic system integration and operational parameters."During the exercise, key onboard systems were tested from the driver cabin. The Siemens team demonstrated the functioning of the systems under different operating conditions," said Mishra. A short trial movement of the rake was undertaken to evaluate traction performance, braking response and current drawn from the overhead equipment.The trainset was moved at a restricted speed of 10 kmph in the initial phase. Officials checked PAPIS and other electrical systems. A technical inspection of the rake, including lighting systems and electrical cubicles, was conducted.
