Kolkata, Feb. 9 -- A Trinamool Congress councillor from North 24 Parganas district's Barrackpore municipality was arrested on Sunday evening after an 81-year-old citizen he allegedly assaulted died, police said. "The family of the deceased, Tulsi Adhikari, filed a police complaint against Rabindranath Bhattacharya, the councillor. Footage from security cameras and eyewitness accounts are being examined. The investigation is on," Indrabadan Jha, DCP(central) Barrackpore, told reporters. There was an altercation between the councillor and Adhikari's son on Sunday morning. The 81-year-old man collapsed after Bhatacharya allegedly kicked him. He was declared brought dead at the local hospital. The TMC has suspended Bhattacharya for six years....
