Three killed, 2 hurt as car goes on ramming spree in Badaun
Meerut, Feb. 17 -- A reckless car driver triggered a series of fatal crashes on Sunday evening near the city in Badaun district, leaving three people dead and two injured across a 12-km stretch on the Budaun on Bijnor Highway.
The driver hit a motorcyclist at Behri Mor, sped away, and struck multiple bikers at different points along the highway, before escaping.
According to the police, the first accident occurred around 5 pm at Behri Mor when the white car rammed into a motorcycle. Instead of stopping to help the injured rider, the driver fled towards the Bilsi area.
About seven kilometres ahead, near Roshan Nagar turn, the same car hit another motorcycle, killing Mohd Badlu, 56, a resident of Baramay Khera, while Shan Mohammad sustained injuries.
The vehicle then sped further and about five kilometres ahead near Laua struck yet another bike.
The two riders were thrown off on impact. Mukesh Kumar, 30, a resident of Kartauli, died on the spot, while his brother-in-law Madan Lal was seriously injured.
Moments later, another motorcycle belonging to Vishal, 22, son of Pramod from Laua, was also hit by the same car. Vishal died due to the collision.
Deputy superintendent of police Devendra Kumar said police teams are searching for the driver and examining CCTV footage to identify the vehicle....
