Third-party STP audits now must for pvt townships
LUCKNOW, Jan. 29 -- Private townships in the city will now face third-party audits of their sewage treatment plants (STPs), divisional commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant said on Wednesday.
The decision came after Pant inspected STPs at two private townships in Gomti Nagar Extension to review compliance with environmental norms and operational efficiency of sewage treatment facilities in residential projects.
During the visit to a private township near Shaheed Path, the divisional commissioner found the STP operational. He reviewed reports of incoming sewage and treated water, which met prescribed standards, the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) press release stated.
Pant later inspected the STP at another private township near the police headquarters, where officials reported that treated water was being reused in toilet blocks....
