GORAKHPUR, Jan. 22 -- Obscene dance videos recorded on the premises of a government primary school and the district educational training centre in Deoria district went viral on social media, leading to swift action by the basic education department on Tuesday. The first incident occurred at a government primary school in village Mahui under the Sadar block. Officials said a private function was organised on the school campus, during which obscene dance performances were held. After the video surfaced online, Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) Deoria Shalini Srivastava suspended the in-charge headmaster and issued show-cause notices to four other teachers. A detailed inquiry is underway, and strict action will be taken against those found guilty. In a separate incident, a farewell function organised by students of the district educational training centre for the 2023 batch also drew criticism after videos showing obscene dances and songs went viral.
