Teachers served notice for sharing exam hall photos
PRAYAGRAJ, Feb. 3 -- Photographs on social media from inside the examination halls of the ongoing Class 12 practical examinations have drawn the attention of UP Board, which has now sought explanation from teachers responsible.
Board secretary Bhagwati Singh has directed that explanation notices be served on the teachers involved, with the possibility of debarring them from examination duties for three years.
Singh said maintaining the sanctity of every examination, including practicals, was non-negotiable. He confirmed that some examiners entrusted with conducting the Class 12 practical exams had uploaded photographs of students during practical tests. Calling it a clear violation of examination protocol, he said district inspectors of schools (DIOSs) had been instructed to seek written explanations from each of the erring examiners.
The Board secretary emphasised that the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for conducting examinations explicitly barred photography or any activity that could compromise the examination environment. He added that uploading images from inside examination halls, regardless of the reason, breaches these rules and would invite strict disciplinary action against those found guilty. "The social media cell of the Board has been instructed to monitor posts on different social media platforms for checking any repetition of such activity," he added. The UP Board's Intermediate practical examinations for 2026 began on January 24.
In another directive, the Board has mandated that answer sheets of practical examinations scheduled till February 9 must be preserved for one year. Instructions issued to all DIOSs on December 31 specify that examiners must keep the answer sheets safely stored and produce them whenever required. Previously, there was no fixed time limit for retaining practical answer sheets....
