Bareilly, Jan. 29 -- Suspended PCS officer Alankar Agnihotri left Bareilly on Wednesday afternoon in a private vehicle amid tight security arrangements, according to officials. Police officials stated that Agnihotri was taken away by his family friends, including one officer. Agnihotri held the position of city magistrate before his suspension. CO Pankaj Srivastava said that Agnihotri's friends took him away in their private vehicle. "There is a possibility that he may go to Lucknow to be with his wife. His mother lives in Kanpur, so he may also travel there. The police are not accompanying him," he said. Protests by his supporters were witnessed during the day. Earlier in the day, Agnihotri had alleged that he was placed under house arrest. However, additional district magistrate (ADM) City Saurabh Dubey denied the allegations of house arrest. He said that Agnihotri had not been confined and that, despite being suspended, he continued to remain in government service. "As a public servant, he is covered under security protocol," Dubey said. The developments come days after 2019-batch PCS officer Alankar Agnihotri publicly announced his resignation on Monday morning. htc...
