Lucknow, May 3 -- Prominent cultural and educational institutions in the city have started preparations for summer workshops to be held this month. These workshops will offer training in music, dance, drama and fine arts for people of different age groups, from children to senior citizens. At Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, the summer hobby workshop will be held from May 26 to June 25. Training will be given in classical and folk singing, including Ghazal, Thumri and Dadra, along with instruments such as Tabla, Sitar, Violin, Flute and Harmonium. Applications will be accepted till May 20. The Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Natak Akademi will organise a workshop from May 15 to June 14. Besides Bhajan and Ghazal singing, training will also be offered in classical and semi-classical music, Awadhi folk songs, Kathak and Tabla. The last date to apply is May 5. At Bhartendu Natya Academy, a 45-day workshop for youth aged 18 to 30 will begin on May 15. Children aged 7 to 17 can join a separate workshop in June. The State Lalit Kala Akademi has removed the upper age limit for its workshop this year. People aged 10 to 60 and above can take part. Training will be given in drawing, sketching, painting and clay modelling. Forms will be available from May 20, and classes will begin in the first week of June. The Bal Sangrahalaya will organise a summer camp for children aged 5 to 14 from May 20 to June 19. The camp will include dance, drama, art and judo. The last date for registration is May 17....
