Jaipur, Feb. 9 -- Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Sunday launched welfare schemes for farmers, labourers, livestock rearers, and grassroots residents through Gram Utthan Shivirs organised across every girdawar circle. Addressing a camp in Bahala village in Alwar district, Sharma announced development projects worth over Rs.152 crore for Alwar city. These include inaugurations and foundation stones for initiatives in education, healthcare, energy, infrastructure, and civic amenities. Sharma reiterated that villages are the soul of the country. He highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a self-reliant and empowered rural India, citing schemes such as Swachh Bharat Abhiyan for sanitation, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana for permanent housing, and Jal Jeevan Mission for clean tap water in households. The chief minister underlined the impact of the Gram Utthan Shivirs, noting that more than 1,800 camps have been organised so far to deliver central and state welfare schemes to rural residents. These events have distributed over 134,000 soil health cards and more than 65,000 ownership (Swamitva) cards, received 37,000 applications for Kisan Credit Cards, treated around 650,000 livestock, and registered over 36,000 under the PM Surya Ghar scheme. Union minister for environment, forest and climate change Bhupender Yadav said the camps are facilitating dairy, solar energy, and other rural development activities with ease. He added that welfare initiatives in Rajasthan align with Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay's philosophy and the Prime Minister's vision of inclusive growth.
