LUCKNOW, Feb. 17 -- The Uttar Pradesh government has constituted a three-member committee to find out who all were responsible for bogus appointments made to the posts of X-ray technician in 2016 and 2008. HT had published a story on the scam in the health department in September last year and it was found that at least 61 people got jobs with the help of fake/duplicate documents in several districts of the state. The committee has the director, administration, health directorate as the head and the director, paramedical, and the director, national programme in the health department, as members. The committee is required to find out who, officials and staff, were responsible for these recruitments. Apart from appointments made in 2016, the committee is supposed to scan appointments made in 2008 also. The onus of the irregularity is to be fixed by the committee. The committee will identify the people who got the job and fix their accountability, said a letter issued in this regard. The department had found 61 fraudulent appointments spread across 30 districts. These districts include Etawah, Prayagraj, Barabanki, Amethi, Fatehpur, Banda, Kannauj, Jhansi, Ambedkar Nagar, GB Nagar, Pilibhit. The fraudulent appointments were also done in Lakhimpur Kheri, Kanpur Dehat, Bijnor, Kaushambi, Kanpur, Unnao, Mainpuri, Firozabad, Badaun, Mathura, Chandauli, Rae Bareli, Meerut, Hamirpur, Pratapgarh, Hardoi, Shravasti, Auraiya and Siddharthnagar districts.The report will cover aspects such as advertisement of the posts, selected candidates, and then number of candidates who actually joined service.In the scam, ineligible people got jobs by using fake documents and their verification from the headquarters, before being posted in districts, was also done fraudulently.
